Constantly changing according to the weather and the time of day, Malta creates an interesting array of vistas for the artist. This is the view looking from the Grand Harbour toward Kalkara.

The limestone buildings of the 16th to 19th Centuries lend a pervasive grandeur in both day and night. Between Fort St Angelo and the rest of Vittoriosa is a defensive ditch know as the Menqa. It also provided safe parking for galleys during the Great Siege of 1565. As part of the renovation work of the Cottonera Waterfront Group, this has become an elegant space for wandering, and should be a venue for cafe culture by the autumn. The view below is of the illuminated narrow bridge across the edge of the Menqa.
