About L. Caruana
As artist, author and lecturer, L. Caruana has emerged as one of Visionary art's foremost representatives. He is the editor of The Visionary Revue (where his renowned Manifesto of Visionary Art appears) and the author of Enter Through the Image: The Ancient Image-Language of Myth, Art and Dreams. His own Visionary canvases use classical techniques to explore different cultural symbols and styles. From his studio in Paris, he frequently travels abroad to lecture on contemporary Visionary art, on his mentor Ernst Fuchs, and on his own life-long pursuit of the ancient image-language.
L. Caruana is no stranger to Malta, since it is the land of his heritage, and he lived here for two years, in his father's home town of Mellieha. His novel-in-progress The Lacemaker captures some of his experiences of that time.

At Metageum
In our dreams and entheogenic visions, the mind arranges images in a variety of meaningful ways. Through art and myth, the structures underlying these arrangements become fixed and recognizable as aspects of the ancient image-language. L. Caruana will present images from Malta's megalithic temples, and propose various ways in which these images might be related, read and understood. Mythic, oneiric, even entheogenic arrangements will be offered for consideration. Meanwhile, emphasis will be placed on 'thinking through images' according to the constructs of their ancient image-language.
